Il termine informale inglese newbie (letteralmente neofita) indica una persona inesperta di un certo contesto che mostra l'intenzione a migliorarsi, da non confondersi con noob, che identifica un soggetto neofita che, al contrario del newbie, non ha la minima intenzione di migliorarsi.
